Accountable Energy is an Energy Efficiency Inspection company that prides itself in being
impartial and fair. We strive to help Homeowners and Builders make their homes healthy and
comfortable, while increasing durability and lowering operating expenses.
Accountable Energy was founded and is managed by Scott Young. Scott has many years of
experience working as an Energy Inspector and is both BPI and RESNET certified. He has
been involved in certifying homes for several programs including Energy Star, Environments
for Living, Engineered For Life, Green Building, Energy Conservation Audit and Disclosure and
the City of Austin's new Energy Code. He has worked for one of the largest Energy Raters in
Arizona, the largest Rating Provider in Texas and managed the largest Energy Rating company
in Austin. As one of the most experienced inspectors working in the Austin area, he has the
knowledge and skills to diagnose efficiency problems and suggest cost effective solutions.
We began inspecting homes as a response to the IECC Energy Code Amendments. Seeing
an opportunity to assist Home Builders understand and build to the standards that would
enable them to pass the new measures. Since that time we have included several other
programs to provide our clients with an inspection company that could take care of any energy
inspection need.
With our up to date diagnostic equipment, we have taken the guess work out of inspections.
Whether its running smoke into the duct system to find leaks, measuring the leakage rate of
the home using a Blower Door, peering into walls using an Infrared Camera or measuring the
temperature and amount of air coming out of the registers, we will find the cause of those high
bills and uncomfortable rooms. As new technologies provides opportunity to the industry we
are dedicated to continually improving our standards. We base our findings on data collected
from performing tests to save you from unnecessary and costly upgrades.

member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Austin. We have strong relationships
